This TV is not worth buying
I purchased this TV on November 2009 and paid $1,296.00. I thought that the price while high would be a sound investment. I was wrong. !8 months of having the TV and it's dead. I went to bed and woke up the next morning to find the TV off, and when I tried to switch it back on it wouldn't come out of standby mode. Avoid this TV like the plague unless you are happy to replace your TV every 18 months.

Reasonable purchase for a reasonable price
I've read a few reviews on this particular TV before I purchased it and I checked it out a few times in store as well.
This TV does have quite an impressive screen quality. Images are very vivid and clear in both Digital TV mode or in DVD/Blu Ray mode.
It would be nice if AWA could have made it switch on a bit quicker but I guess you do get what you pay for in a TV that has some functions operated from the remote which are slow and sometimes you have to hit the button for the function you want to perform more than once.
I would recommend this TV to anyone who was looking for a bargain. With a 3 year warranty that is good value.

Too good to be true.
First, before I comment on the TV, let me first say a few good words about Big W. Buying online all went so very smooth. Then the next day I get a phone call asking if they could confirm my credit card details. This was awesome as it showed they considered my security important. Never before had I experienced such strict online security. Everything else went smoothly. Delivery and follow up. Well done BigW.
Now for the TV set.
Because of the relatively lessor known brand AWA and the really low price, I fully expected a lessor quality... but I was so very wrong. The unit is a great piece of furniture in my lounge. Even when turned off it complements the room. Setting up was dream. Nothing to do really except turn it on and connect the aerial... it seemed to know exactly what to do. A few minutes later it was all up to speed. Amazing. About time someone took the stress out of setting up TV's. Well done AWA. Now the best part of the whole deal is the picture quality. Even the analogue stations are superb, but the HD stations are second to none. I had previously checked out the Panasonic and Samsung units at the local Beta store, and frankly I see no difference. The quality is faultless all round. If I had to complain about anything I would say its a bit heavy and warm up switch on time is a bit long (about 5 seconds) before the picture manifests. But having said that, I have never known the weight of equivalent units, or their warm up times. Overall I have no reservations about giving the unit 10/10...and BigW 11/10. Oh...and what about the 3 year warranty? Reckon I have kicked a goal with this one. For the price, this is a real bargain indeed. BigW has won me for good now. Look forward to more of the same for many years to come.

Like a "picture window" to the world
*Replacement for a 20 year old 26 inch cabinet TV of the same make. *Purchased on-line and delivered to my door for. I think, a remarkably small delivery fee.
* Easy set-up once it was plugged in (pressed a few buttons and it set itself up). Had a chuckle at some "Chinglish" in the manual.
* The big screen and stereo sound just makes watching TV an event, particularly documentaries (and sport) telecast in HD. A Surround Sound system will top it off.
* Probably has more features than I'll ever use but nice to know they're there if/when I need them.
* If the quality is as good as its predecessor it's going to be another long time between replacements.
* Did I get value for money? I think I did.

Good value for buck
This is my first digital TV so I am not the best one to rate this, but I did look around for 3 months before buying so I got to look at a lot of picture quality. This one ranks only 2nd to the 42" Samsung I saw at Retrovision. Setup was a breeze compared to my old analogue. Plugged it into power and connected the arial and turned it on and whammo... it did the rest. Auto tuned about 160 stations as I remember. Within 20 mins we were sitting back watching the footy with the remote in one hand and a tinnie in the other. I am wrapped in all features except the power consumption which is a bit high (280watts). 9/10 for me.
